Do I Need a Biopsy?

A prostate biopsy is a procedure to remove suspicious prostate gland tissue samples in order to determine if cancer or other abnormal cells are present. Most prostate biopsies can take place within your urologist’s office.

 

Your doctor may decide to perform a prostate biopsy if a test during your physical exam indicates a potential problem with your prostate gland, such as if:
